Artist's Statement:
I have been working in series of still life oil paintings for about six or seven years, starting with the inspiration of seeing a Dutch painting by Pieter Claesz with a live turtle as one of the objects, and continuing in the "Blue Studio" series and the "Breakfast" series. In the past I have also worked in landscape, and have painted both landscapes and still life paintings in watercolor as well as oil.
