A painter, printmaker and constructionist, she graduated from Columbia University in 1960, and began her formal art training at the Art Students League and studied art history at NYU.Independently, she studied painting at the Chelsea College of Art in London, England and printmaking with Pratt Institute at the Scoula Internazionale di Graphica in Venice, Italy. Among tier most influential art teachers were Sid Dickinson, Donald Pierce, Harriet FeBlane, Roberto De Lamonica and Clare Romano. Her works have been widely exhibited since the early 1970s, including thirteen solo, shows. Many of tier works are represented in corporate and private collections in the U.S.A. and abroad....Non-objective art has been my "language of expression" since the early 1980's. It involves an alteration of all previousl y hel d not i on of art i st i c creation and expression, because it does not necessarily present specific objects and ideas. To me non-objective art is a highly personal artistic expression which almost requires an "act of faith" on part of the viewer to accept pure form and color as subject matter as well as style." |
